Through our Mbaracayú Program, the Fundación Moisés Bertoni (FMB), the Alberta Research Council, with contribution of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) are carrying out the project “Capacity Enhancement for Community and Ecologically-Based Management in the Bosque Mbaracayú Biosphere Reserve”, in the Department of Canindeyú, located in the of the Jejuí River High Basin (CARJ). Our project goal is to design and implement a dynamic landuse planning process to provide recommendations to stakeholders and decision makers in the Mbaracayú “Man and Biosphere” Reserve (MAB) for ecological protection, sustainable communities (including social and cultural dimensions), and responsible economic development. The project began April 21, 2004 and finishes March 2007.
