The MBF continuously carries out Environmental Education activities with the communities that live next to the protected areas it manages, with the objective of improving the knowledge based on topics linked to the conservation of these Natural Reserves currently under its management:
- Though radio broadcasting, information is transmitted to the reserves and their importance for conservation and sustainable use of natural resources, as well as topics relating to health, food security, and other important topics for the communities.
- Daily radio programs are relied on to reach and influence people who live near and in the local zone about the importance for conservation and sustainable use of natural resources, as well as topic relating to health and food security.
- The programs are developed in the local language: Guarani, by a native speaker. They transmit information relevant to community development in the area, protection and research in the reserves, and short news items that pertain to the missions of the MBF.
-Educative messages are also utilized.
Training workshops for the teaching staff are done for the improvement of the quality of education on environmental topics in the schools of the area.
-The local population and authorities are trained on environmental legislation and understanding of the legal processes relating to the environment.
-The MBF has Environmental Information Centers that provide bibliographical information for students, teachers, and the population at large.
