All implemented actions in this component of the MBF are meant to offer integral production alternatives to thousands of inhabitants of communities surrounding the natural reserves to improve their quality of life.
It is focused in the prevention of illegal actions, and promotes the protection of the natural reserves through:
- Productive alternatives to generate legitimized incomes, increase familiar rent and self-esteem. It promotes good quality production with interesting incomes: sesame seeds, medicinal herbs, yucca production, beans, corn, honey, yerba mate and minor cattle raising
- Technical assistance services are constantly and personally provided by the MBF, in order to promote natural amicable actions.
- Alliances with specialized organizations have promoted the development of technical skills, commercialization, and production focused on gender and ethno-culture.
- Alliances between the private sector producers to ensure commercialization in fair prices.
-Peasant and indigenous women of the area have an average of almost 10 children each. Their incomes hardly get to feed their families.
The MBF carries out programs designed for them to have access to new opportunities. Medicinal herbs production is accessible for them and gives them sustainable incomes. For that matter pilot experiences have been installed, like the “burrito” herb production; capacitating women in plague handling, storage and commercialization among others. The MBF is assisting more than 500 families from 19 communities: Arroyo Bandera, Jejui Guazu, Chupa pou, Alianza, 1º de mayo, La Morena, Jejui mi, Itapoty, Mboi Yaguá, Ma Auxiliadora, Tendal, 11 de Setiembre, San Antonio, Itanará, Marquetti, Las Residentas, Aº Guasú, Brítez cué, and Guyrá kehá.
